Lough Boora Discovery Park Announces Upcoming Sculpture "Regeneration" by Kevin O’Dwyer
Lough Boora Discovery Park has announced plans for the arrival of a major new permanent sculpture by acclaimed Irish artist Kevin O’Dwyer. Titled Regeneration, the 5.5-metre steel work will become the latest addition to the park’s celebrated sculpture trail, reinforcing its unique blend of art, nature, and heritage.
Drawing inspiration from the form of a seed, Regeneration will stand as a powerful symbol of renewal and ecological resilience—reflecting Lough Boora’s own transformation from an industrial bog to a biodiverse sanctuary. Over time, the sculpture will weather naturally, developing a rich patina that echoes the evolving landscape.
“Lough Boora is a place where art, ecology, and memory intersect,” says O’Dwyer. “Regeneration celebrates the resilience of this land and looks to the future with hope.”
The sculpture’s design and placement will ensure harmony with the park’s open vistas and other site-specific artworks, offering visitors a new focal point for reflection and connection with the environment.
Regeneration is scheduled for installation in September 2025, with an official unveiling event to follow.
